Well, let's see. I've done four long pieces for foreign students and am currently working on website content for a mobile-phone recycling company.
Next week, I'll start writing the copy for a sound-recordist's website, too.
All in all, it's interesting and varied work.

Latest.
Today, a few interesting projects have come through.
I have just finished a theses on the subject of education for an Oxford University student. Her deadline is this Monday and I was asked late last night. She was responding to a free advertisement I'd posted online a few hours before.
I have been sent a film-script to take a look at for a well-established, LA-based producer. There is also a children's book for me to proofread.
I've been offered the opportunity to contribute articles for The Cheeky Guides, too. These are guides to cities such as Brighton, UK.
I really enjoy the variation of work and I see it all as an education, too. It seems to help if you are interested in the world about you.
Advertising remains an important part of all this - perhaps, particularly, as this is a new business but I imagine it will be an ongoing process! I am leaving adverts on every free networking website I can find and have had some business-cards printed up, too. I have told everyone I know about this business and asked them to forward the information on to their friends and associates, too.
Luckily, I am enjoying myself and this is surely going to help my business be successful!
All in all, right now it is so important to tell people what I have to offer.

Jo proved more than able to take the raw material and offer professional and well-focused editing, which lept the original structure of the work, but made it both readable and well presented. Where other editors would attempt to ride over the structure of the work, Jo has been able to offer professional editoral services at value - for which we are very grateful. -

Who I am.
I am an experienced, published writer of fiction. I have been published in Litro, Smokelong Quarterly, elimae, The Delinquent and others. I am a fiction editor at http://www.3ammagazine.co.uk/ – a magazine that receives four hundred submissions per month. I am the organiser and editor of http://www.sparksnight.blogspot.com/ - a submission-only live fiction event in Brighton, UK.
What I do.
I offer a professional, highly accurate, proofreading and copyediting service, offering very competitive rates and a quick turnaround time. I work to both UK and US conventions of grammar and spelling and can respond at short notice to meet any tight deadlines and schedules. I understand the importance of preserving the authentic tone and ‘voice’ of the author.

Why you need a proofreader.
· UK companies lose an estimated £41 billion worth of lost sales annually due to grammatical and punctuation errors, sloppy spelling and poor presentation. In a Royal Mail survey over 70% of the companies indicated they would not trust any businesses who displayed poor communication skills.
· Computer spell checkers cannot differentiate between words that have more than one spelling option, but can have different meanings or context.
· In current, pressured working environments and with ever-increasing demands on our time, errors can occur in documentation and literature even with the most careful planning.
· A writer won't necessarily spot their own errors; they tend not to see what is actually there, but instead what they think is there.
· The quality of a business’s documentation has a direct impact on how they are professionally perceived; poor spelling, grammar, punctuation and presentation can detract from their natural ability and expertise and make them look unprofessional.
· Proofing documents takes time, which many managers these days don't possess.
Jo took a first-draft description of our circus and cabaret act and gave it clarity and life. She cleared up grammatical errors and tightened up the whole text. We now have a punchy piece of copy to send to agents; a big thanks to Jo for understanding the brief and our client group. We would certainly recommend her. – Nikki Lucas, Strictly Dumb Prancing
Errors in documentation are an expense you can ill afford; in today's ever-changing economic climate, can you really afford to lose business just because of overlooked punctuation and spelling?
